Haiku #16: Cryotherapy

image

It was one of those rainy and chilly afternoons when I decided to go to the coffee shop. I could have gotten myself a cup of extra-hot cappuccino but opted for the frappe instead. I could have chosen the warm comfort but no, I chose to feel the shivers and have my fingers numbed just to write this poem.

VORFREUDE

I hope this is not our last day in Writing 201: Poetry. It has been fun writing and reading with my “classmates” and Mr. Ben Huberman. Cheers for finishing the course and hope to see more of your works in the future. Happy reading and writing!

Sunrise at Mt. Cabuyao (March 24, 2013)

Time to cross the bridge
Conquer the fear of height
Hike along the highest ridge
It’s gonna be alright

Fly, levitate, leave the heft
When the going gets tough, the tough gets going
Go right or go left
Doesn’t matter as long as you’re moving

Move forward; go out of the zone
Forget what’s done
You’ll see how you have grown

Tomorrow’s gonna be awesome
Await for what’s coming next
The best is yet to come

La Dolce Vita

Our Writing 201 assignment is about Found Poetry where in I had to cut out words and phrases and arrange them into a poem. I made a word salad from pages 44-47 of Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert.
la dolce vita

I deserve something beautiful
I want the dolce vita,
I love the sweet life,
Some good lessons, personal victories,
The beautiful world.

I like to find a beautiful home
And perhaps speak a few separate languages,
To understand human emotions,
To find the most beautiful dialect ever spoken– love.

I will watch the sunset,
Walk down through the seductively beautiful cities,
Meet princes and intellectuals,
End a day laughing or playing,
Have any reason to be happy and feel contented

Most of all, be with and love God Himself,
I want so desperately.
