Marchesa Resort 2012

Collection Marchesa is on my Top 5 Most Awaited collections this season (and as always.) If you have seen their spring collection, you might be surprised of their “tone down” this season. They may have taken a break from using lots of chiffon, tulle, and laces and have decided to use more silk and other light fabrics I don’t know their name of. But even though their recent pieces are not as dramatic as their previous ones, they are still romantic and elegant. They are also more wearable and you may have lesser chance of taking faux pas. They’re all adorable but my most favorite is the long-sleeved, sequined silver open back. What’s yours?

Dark and Dramatic; Marchesa Fall 2011 RTW Collection

Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig’s Marchesa is back on Fall 2011 NYFW with their breathtaking gowns. Though almost similar with their collection last season, with their signature laced, feathered, beaded, and embroidered look, they haven’t failed to wow us with their Gothic inspired regalia. The dresses are as dramatic as the labor put into it as in hand-drapery, hand-attached stones, hand embroidery, hand beading, and maybe some hand tattering. And since it’s the “I-Love-Vampires” era, they joined in the craze with some vampire bridal dresses. Don’t we just love being dramatic an dark with Marchesa?
